For Maila's first winter (can't believe 2008 was that long ago!) we were living in Kingston, and we got so much snow she could disappear into it after a few steps (being only 6 months old at the time). This made it super easy for my lazy butt to play with her because she burned so much energy just trying to move. Ever since then, she goes crazy for snow. The first real snowfall we had this year, thought it was a measly inch at best, she just went crazy doing laps around the backyard at mach ass until she'd had enough of that. At which point she rolled around in it for a while.

After tending to all my Etsy doings this morning, and being pestered by a whiny puppy the whole time, I got all layered up and went outside with her. I realized last night that it's been a couple months since I last obsessively photographed my dog (such a shame, I know) so I brought my camera out with me! I've had this camera for nearly 5 years now and still have yet to fully play around with it, so I took the opportunity to start learning how to get better results with the manual settings. Well, between never having done so before and Maila never staying still for more than half a second, it was kind of a total fail. Got a few decent shots though!

She's never all that satisfied with my playing when I've got my camera in hand. Usually she just bolts towards me from one end of the yard and I tackle her to the ground. She gets up, repeat. But hey, any time she has people outside with her she's usually pretty happy.

That ridiculous furry thing on my head is a Chewie snood. Jealous? You should be. It's super warm.

I'm more jealous of Malia's attire. Badd ass dog!
