As I said in my last outfit post, I recently walked through the back alleys of Queen St West with Lauren taking pictures of all the graffiti I came across. Though we only went through a small section (between Spadina and Bathurst), there was a lot to see.

Street art is one of my favourite things in the world. Bright and bold colours with thick, hard lines. It's made all the better in pieces where it's combined with soft portraiture. I admire the fuck out of people who can control a can of spray paint to turn a boring brick wall into something that pops, something so eye-catching that I actually tend to stop in my tracks when I come across something new. Though I haven't made many honest attempts myself, it's not something I've ever been particularly good at.

My new goal to get me out of the house and actually familiarize myself with the city I've been living in for three years and know next to nothing about, is to hunt for patches of amazing graffiti. You can see the rest of what I took on my flickr.
