Despite the fact that I've lived in Toronto for almost three years (in August!), I'd never been to a Pride Parade before last Sunday. The first year I was here, I was sick. My only excuse for missing it the second time was pure laziness. This year, however, Steve and I ventured downtown for the parade. And it was amazing.
We met up with one of my old high school friends who had thankfully secured a large spot at the grate, so I squeezed in beside her (and, strangely enough, a couple I met around the same time from Belleville that I hadn't seen in a number of years) and got a wicked spot for taking pictures. We had planned on staying in The Village for the rest of the night afterwards, but being a basement-dwelling vampire until recently I'm not very good in prolonged exposure to heat (not to mention barely eating and drinking only whiskey) so we bailed shortly after the parade.
In total, I took over 500 pictures while we were down there. I had to buy a new memory card because I ran out of space on mine towards the end of the parade (resulting in me missing taking pictures of an old friend who was in the parade). After two days of on and off editing, I managed to bring the number down to 351, and narrowed it even further to 36 for this post. The rest of them can all be viewed on my facebook. Enjoy!

Hey I'm in Toronto too and never been to the pride parade either. I think I'll really try going to it next year though. You got some nice shots here.
